Good enough?

After over two years of being in the state of wanting to pursue making music but not quite having the motivation and guidance for it, I finally snapped out of it two months ago. And I'm making rather rapid progress even with periodic involvement due to school.

Still, as I listen to some of the music artists around the internet, and especially some of my inspirations' personal favorites, I ask myself: will time really make me like one of those guys? Because now I notice all those nuances that make these songs really awesome and special. And every one of these artists seems to have that one song that is one of my favorites, and when I listen to it my mind goes "yep, I'm not ever going to get close to that".

The answer to that question is actually "no".

In fact, nobody becomes a copy of someone else as an artist. They can be inspired, and that certainly has an impact, but being like someone else, I've discovered, is a detrimental mindset to have. Instead, other pieces of art can be remade, improved even. Done in your style, which has different fortes and different areas of struggle.

With that said, I'm not looking to become like anyone other than the best version of myself.

I can guarantee that I thought the exact same thing when I started making music.

Bit over three years in and I'm so incredibly proud of the future music I have to share. It finally almost feels like I've "made it".

Music is hard. But I can tell you even now the payoff is so so so worth it

That's certainly reassuring, I sometimes forget you've been in this since 2017.
